This is very brief description of our project :

I hope this information would be of interest to you and your colleagues working at various History programs at the universities in the NIS and South-Eastern Europe (members from the other regions could participate by self funding) especially those focusing on the Ancient History and coulture. HESP, together with Tbilisi State University and the University of Oxford are launching a new project as part of the Regional Seminar for Excellence in Teaching (http://www.soros.org/initiatives/hesp/focus/reset) on the subject of "Eternal Capitals". The project aims to bridge the teaching and curricula in the History of Classical World and the History of the ancient Near East through the prism of development and interconnections between the emblematic cities that have left the most pronounced impact on the history of their respective regions and the world. The Project aims to present Ancient History/civilization, as the subject area of an inherently interdisciplinary nature, to develop curricula and broaden methodological approaches and rethink the current approaches to the scholarship and teaching in these fields to accommodate their diversity

Philip, I think you have a good point there. The OAC has so many members now that it's just impossible to know all of them. Besides, we have had people using pseudonyms and posting stuff of little value, to say the least. So far, I haven't heard of any virus affairs, but I agree with you that it's better to be on the safe side. Thus, I support your proposal.

I hope that I provide a great deal of information regarding project, the team is international and we have already have 25 scholars, as for defending of virus and etc. I can’t be very supportive, myself suffering, but still curious to gain more information ….
