Hello All-

I currently work for a non-profit NGO out in Cambodia and looking to develop a microsavings/loan program with the villages that we work with. This task has fallen on me and, unfortunately, I have had no previous experience in this sort of development. I know this is a broad (and random) question but I figured my fellow anthropologists would have some advice for me.

Do you know of any papers/articles/websites that explicitly describe the basics for setting up and operating such a program in rural areas? Thanks all.

Suggest you get in touch with the MS Swaminathan Research Foundation, one of whose projects is microcredit banks around Chennai in India. They have been doing this stuff for years and quite successfully, too.
Thanks for the advice John. I appreciate it.
