Sociology as a discipline is highly ethnocentric in the sense that most of the text books of Sociology offer examples from the western or industrial societies, Where Anthropology is much more comparative in nature and is able to avoid ethnocentrism. And, I personally think that the "greatness" of anthropology is there.
