Dear members of the art and anthropology group,

10 years after defending my PhD thesis, I have now published my first single authored monograph, Tourism, Magic and Modernity: Cultivating the Human Garden.

I think the book is of interest to many of you as it picks up many issues discussed in the contemporary anthropology of tourism, mobility, modernity, globalisation, heritage, art(s), and environmental policy and governance.

Berghahn offers a time-limited discount of 50% for orders directly made with them by 1 Nov 2011. You can download this voucher at my website, www.piccccc.com or at this link.

I will give a paper addressing different issues developed in the book at AAA in Montreal. Hope the book stimulates debate and creates controversy. You may want to discuss the book in this threat.

Best,
David Picard
