Comment by Tatomir Toroman on April 8, 2013 at 9:38am I'm curious too...But I guess in a way similar to that one Todorova wrote about :-)
Maybe somebody from this group can tell us more about that...
Television in its nature exotifies and sensationalizes. My main concern is the lack of depth and understanding the report expresses. It is much as Todorova suggests in her book "Imagining the Balkans" I am curious how the uninformed (German and Others) audience interpret the images?
Comment by Tatomir Toroman on April 7, 2013 at 10:37am Related to Deutsche Welle story about sworn virgin from Albania, Simeon sent to us, it seems there is a media hype about Balkan exotics...Here is a recent Al Jazeera TV feature about the "last" sworn virgin in Montenegro:

and more about the same subject from "modern" magazine:

Comment by Caterina Borelli on March 28, 2011 at 7:05pm Hello everybody, I am new in this group and in OAC in general. Is there anyone working in/on Bosnia Herzegovina?
And yes, enough nationalism!
