I wonder if I am a little late to the party, having noticed that the most recent posts are over a year old. Anybody out there? I just started my first year in the graduate program at Rice University, and am interested in aesthetics and Anthropology. My project is taking shape around the subject of aesthetic production as a response to trauma, particularly in the context of Post-Apartheid South Africa. But enough about me.

I was curious if someone might be able to give a good characterization of current research/scholarship on the Anthropology of Aesthetics. Try as I might, I cannot find many volumes or articles published in the last ten years. What's being done in this area now? Any good suggestions for reading? Any scholars I should be tracking with? I am (fairly) well versed in philosophical aesthetics, coming from a background in philosophy, but am having a hard time getting a handle on the Anthropology of Aesthetics.
