Anthropology as Revolutionary Activity

As academic positions and funding diminish (and increasingly cater to a high fee paying student) anthropologist of all types are starting to ask the inevitable question about their public standing and broader societal role. Anthropologists justifiably worry about tendencies towards institutional conventionality, exclusivity and elitism; however, can we really embrace Anthropology as Revolutionary Activity? This forum aims for an honest and forthright discussion on this, and related topics, that appear only to become more pressing in the current environment of upheaval.
