Who is Adam Vuylsteke?
Currently, I'm enrolled in a joint Public Issues Anthropology master's program at the University of Waterloo and the University of Guelph, in Ontario.
At present my interests involve exploring a generation of youth being raised in a new fast paced technological lifestyle. More specifically, my research looks at the use of new mass communication devices and social networking tools, such as facebook, skype, twitter, sms, and how students are using these mediums cross culturally to maintain family relationships.
As an undergraduate, my academic interests had always surrounded technology and cultural studies. While completing a combined honours BA in both media and anthropology , I was provided with many chances to create, discover, innovate, learn, and theorize while studying a broad range of subject matter.
As an anthropologist I center my focus on the socio-cultural stream, and as a student of multimedia I am interested in design, mass media, and the rapid dissemination of new technologies for communication.
