Hi, I am from Nepal, and doing PhD at the University of Hyderabad. I am likely to develop my pre-fieldwork seminar on Ecology of Poverty and Rural Livelihood Systems. Hereby, I would like to invite you all for an open discussion.See More
This group is dedicated to anthropological explorations of the human brain. Neuroanthropology is an interdisciplinary field that sits at the nexus of biological anthropology, cognitive neuroscience, and evolutionary neurobiology/neuroanatomy.
Anthopology holds at its core the question of what it is to be a thinking, feeling human being. Emotion and how it is portrayed and interpreted across cultures helps us to reflect on aspects of power, agency and belonging.
OAC already has a group named Theory in Anthropology, a good place to discuss theories already embraced by anthropologists. This group is, instead, intended for discussion of theory found outside anthropology that anthropologists might find useful.
Finding a fieldsite in which to do anthropology is often a challenge for newer scholars. Here I hope to create a group that shares stories of finding fieldsites as well as making connections for people to find fieldsites.
