NEW ANTHROPOLOGY IN A STRANGE LAND: WHAT ANTHROPOLOGY IS AND WHAT IT MIGHT

Questions like ‘What does anthropology mean?’ and “what could it be?” are analagous to questions like “What is man?”  Therefore, in its difficulty to define MAN the discipline has (RATHER PROBLEMATICALLY) failed define itself.  In my thesis I will define what I have dubbed “NEW anthropology.”  This will be a synthesis of scientific and artistic data which aims to annilihate all distinctions between beings on this Earth in order to bring peace to the warring man-apes.  All false dichotomies will be set aside and MEN can finally return to their natural,primal, shamanic, and animalistic states.  For data I will use my own commentary and cite influental scientists,artists, and philosophers.  I will give preference to figures like Terrence Mckenna and Wilhelm Reich who have up to this point, largely been censored by heinous hedgemony.  I will also study my classmates thesis’ here at UMW to find out what the principle debates within this new anthropology will be.  This is explicitly a Nietzchian and or foucaultian exercise in dramatic nonsense.
