I'm an anthropologist working on environment and religions in South and Central Asia. Long-term interests include Buddhism, ethnoecology, conservation. I use historical sources together with fieldwork. At present I'm teaching Gender and Religion, Buddhist Philosophy, Indigenous Medical Traditions, and language classes, and writing books on ecology, ethnicity and religion and method in the study of tantric Buddhism.
