A forum for anthropologists who did (or intend to) conduct long-term fieldwork in Tibetan societies and Tibeto-Burman language-speaking groups ranging from Nepal (Tamang, Gurung, Limbu, etc.) to Southwest China (Naxi, Mosuo, Yi, etc.).
This group is dedicated to anthropological explorations of the human brain. Neuroanthropology is an interdisciplinary field that sits at the nexus of biological anthropology, cognitive neuroscience, and evolutionary neurobiology/neuroanatomy.
Anthopology holds at its core the question of what it is to be a thinking, feeling human being. Emotion and how it is portrayed and interpreted across cultures helps us to reflect on aspects of power, agency and belonging.
