Getting into Graduate study

Hello all,I recently graduated from the University of Kent with BA hons in Social Anthropology and I'm really hoping to get into a PHD programme. At the moment I've been looking into American programmes and I feel like I have the process down but I hate to think I'm missing something.I've communicated with the social science admissions officer at my chosen institution and they've been incredibly helpful so I've tried to break down the process into a series of steps.1. Gather as much information…See More

Good to see you here. With nearly 2,000 members, I think you'll find that this site can be a very useful resource for anthropologists. Have a look around. You may have already seen the group Nationalisms and Identity. The best suggestion I can think to give you is to feel free to participate in any discussions that interest you. You can start new forum threads, create new specialist groups, post to your member blog, etc. The OAC is all about sharing and collaboration, as well as meeting other anthropologists and students from around the world in a more relaxed setting, so jump right in.

See you next week,

Fran
