Matthew, you commented on my wall in 2009, an answer to how we anthropologists' add value in business. I have come to a bit of an 'ah-ha' moment, and now can see how much wisdom you imparted on my wall, even though I did not fully understand it at that time. I spent 15 months as PA to four directors, was privy to high-level decisions and meetings and can see that the UK is not so different from the US. The culture of kisisng up and leverage is prevelent here too. There are likely many businesses I could work in and make key observations to improve processes and increase profits. The issue we have now is the struggle to get employed...

My new role is as an internal auditor, I am going to keep your words in mind as I scrutinise the internal process and suggest changes. So thank you, your observations have helped me to tease out whats in front of my eyes.

I have gotten sick and tired of hearing people say, "this is America, speak English." I decided I want to speak up about it while staying non-confrontational. I thought the best way to do this would be our culturally acceptable means of free speech via t-shirts. I made one with Geronimo that says the equivalent of "speak American" in Apache.

The only true way for this to work in sharing th idea is if other like minded people wear it too. So, if any other anthro-minded people would like one, I am of course selling them. I made a website too www.hypocritesanonymous.com and they are $20. I also made a cheaper medium of a bumper sticker that lists a few less native peoples for $5. Shipping included on both.

I hope no one is bothered by me putting this on this site. It is hard to find a place with large amounts of smart people though. Thanks!

Finished at UT Austin in Anthropology and Asian Studies in 2005. I had learned that American culture is centered around money so I joined the business world.

I have been dumbfounded ever since.
