Just some thoughts...
I love philosophy books. I haven't read them for a year or so and this summer, got back to philosophy books again and read really a lot. What may be today's whim - after reading Foucault's book (not sure if it was translated into English) on Kant's anthropology after reading the Kant's book itself, I thought I could never be a philosopher, with all sincere respects to him. As a matter of fact I've read many works of his for almost 10 years - Order of things, History of madness, Hermeneutics of subjects and other lectures at College de France, many of which recently became available in English; to sum up, like more than ten, and still marvelled at his very first work. I'm not getting him yet and probably would never be able to do better. So can't wait for Foucault, to paraphrase Sahlins in a very different sense. But tomorrow I may be a bit more self-confident as a scholar and I hope to be so. Gotta study really hard no matter what.
