There is evidence that Abraham and his ancestors (long before we can speak of Jews) had cultural and probably marriage ties with the Ibo.  Abraham and his ancestors were Horites, a caste of ruler-priests who originated in the part of Africa that comprises the Sahara, N. Nigeria, Lake Chad and the Nile Valley. The Edomites of the Bible are related to the Edo or Idu of Nigeria and Benin. The Greeks called the Edomites the "Idumea" or red peopleThe title of their rulers is further evidence. The ruler of the Edo is called "Oba" and the first ruler of Petra was the deified Nabataean King Obodas.  Petra reflects Horite beliefs.  See these essays:  http://biblicalanthropology.blogspot.com/2011/09/edomites-and-color...

The Horites were a caste and as such practiced endogamy.  Their ruler-priest lines intermarried.  Melchizedek, the ruler-priest of Jerusalem in Abraham's time (c. 2,200 BC), was probably a Jebusite and My guess is that Jebusite is the English rendering of Ijebu.
