I'm currently working on a book-project on the politics of representation. Now, I'm looking for articles and reference-books on it.

I saw a few emails with a longer description on what it was that you were looking for (anthropology-colonialism-politics of representation), but don't seem to be able to find the more extensive description/question under either of the groups (first timer)... so have come to intrude on your page...

Pretty sure many will have their own ideas but a few which leaped instantly to mind and might not everyone's cup of tea were:

Taussig (1987) Shamanism, Colonialism & the Wild Man (e.g. Ch.4, 5, 11, 18 among others)

Taussig (1993) Mimesis & Alterity

...and I have always liked

Trouillot, Michel Rolph. 1991. "Anthropology and the savage slot: the poetics and politics of otherness" in Recapturing Anthropology: Working in the present. Edited by R. Fox

Anthony Pagden (1982) The fall of natural man: The American Indian and the origins of comparative ethnology. Cambridge: Cambridge University Press

is one of my all time favourite books.

You may well discern that my current regional interest lies in South America.

Best wishes,
