Hello Nikos,

Taraf de Haidouks (Taraful Haiducilor) is a famous Roms music group from Romania(Clejani), they started in 1990 after the fall of Ceausescu. Taraf Haiducilor means 'Gang of Bandits', 'haiduc' or 'haidouk' is indeed a turkish word with the meaning you say but it also means 'usual bandits' although it is a liitle old fashion word. I don't know the motivation of the men to choose this name.
