Gennie Bolor is one of Mongolia's most long-standing female rappers. She's one of a small minority of women who have chosen this male-dominated medium to express herself.

While she has not yet produced an album, Gennie has been featured on countless songs with her male counterparts in the Mongolian hip-hop scene. Her lyrics are poetic and descriptive and she often raps about social issues and female empowerment (although, I'm not sure if she would call it that).

This interview was conducted in April 2012. Special thanks to Ulzii Batbaayar and Zaya Badrakh who helped translated the interview and lyrics.
