They are called "las patronas" because the town is La Patrona, Veracruz. Other towns and people help these migrants. In yesterday note comments, a reader mentions a house in Huichapan, Hidalgo. It is also important Padre Alejandro Solalinde work. He maintains a shelter for migrants in Ixtepec, Oaxaca.
But now I see you said already it was Veracruz, Mexico.
Nice film, Oscar. I probably missed it, but I couldn't work out from the film where 'las patronas' lived or where the migrants were going to.
